Summer Sunflower Wedding at Stone Chapel at MattLane Farm

I have a confession to make. Sunflowers are not my favorite flower. There! I said it! BUT my job as a florist is to be completely unbiased and to see the beauty in every flower and the client’s vision. When Cat came to me with a vision of sunflowers paired with pale blue accent flowers, I could see this boho dream come to life so clearly!
For her bouquet, we used sunflowers, yellow spray roses, blue delphinium, periwinkle eryngium, and white stock. The key ingredient though was golden viking mums! They look like mini sunflowers and provide amazing dimension when paired with big sunflowers. One viking mum bloom was the perfect size for Zach’s bout and we paired with one sweet eryngium bud. The bridesmaid’s carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet and they popped off of the girls’ pale blue dresses! Such a pretty color!
For the ceremony, we designed a large altarpiece filled with trailing ruscus, mums, and eryngium. To frame the altar, arrangements filled with blue hydrangeas, yellow spray roses, and blue delphinium guided your eyes right at our fabulous couple. The best part? These pieces were moved to the sweetheart table for the reception later! We love designing multi-use pieces.
For the centerpieces, we surrounded 3 vases of floating votives with ruscus, eucalyptus, eryngium, viking mums, and one GIANT sunflower to round it off. Simple, but simply fabulous! We nestled the same flowers into the stunning five tier cake made by Rick’s Bakery.
Coordinated by Most Joyful Day, this lovely couple said their vows accompanied by our cheerful and sweet floral designs. Stone Chapel at MattLane Farm served as the perfect backdrop and Photo Love captured the day wonderfully. Enjoy the snaps below!
