White Winter Wedding Styled Shoot
Photographer: Aaron Taylor Photos
What Is A Styled Shoot?
“A styled shoot is simply a collaborative effort of multiple creatives who put their talents and resources together to create a stunning visual concept to be photographed.” (from this article) I often get inquiries from photographers, event coordinators, or event venues asking to collaborate on styled (photo)shoots. Sometimes there is a vision for these shoots and other times I have total creative liberty to design whatever I want. Sometimes I’m offered compensation for materials/time and other times it’s a volunteer opportunity. I decide whether I want to participate based on my availability, the amount of material/time requested, and how I feel about the creative vision for the shoot. I enjoy these shoots because they are opportunities to flex my creative muscles, try new design styles or techniques, and work with other wedding vendors in the community.
This Styled Shoot
For this shoot, Aaron of Aaron Taylor Photos reached out to me for a bouquet, boutonniere, and cake flowers for a white winter wedding styled shoot. I was happy to oblige and I think you’ll agree that the flowers and photos turned out beautifully!
What Did I Use?
For the organic white bridal bouquet, I used fragrant garden roses, spray roses, dainty wax flower, delicate Queen Anne’s lace, and a wide variety of foliage including dusty miller, Italian ruscus, and both seeded and spiral eucalyptus. The groom’s boutonniere is classic white spray roses, wax flower, and foliage to coordinate with the bridal bouquet. The cake flowers are the same as the bridal bouquet with the addition of white hydrangea blooms.
